Orwellian Olsens & the Nekkid Bloggers

Posted by Rick · April 30th, 2004 · 5 Comments

I’m always on the look-out for new (to me) blogs of interest. Someone (I won’t say who) told me about some kind of “nekkid” blog ring. Apparently this blog ring does not involve — well, not visibly — nudity, but does involve bloggers who periodically blog “sans sartorium,” if you’ll allow me to coin a phrase. I do not intend any of my sensitive readers to accidentally conjure hideous images; I am not hereby making any comment upon my writing raiment, or any potential for a lack thereof.

I did, however, whilst researching this topic — as, of course, I must do whenever someone sends me a tip, er, uh, bit of information — run across this great article, originally written by Maureen Dowd (April 25, 2004), on the Cyn City blog. And since I also liked the picture that went along with Cyn City’s “Top Down” post, I decided to mention Cyn City here. (Find the post yourself, I’m not linking stuff like that to my blog! There may be children here, dontchaknow — at least judging by some of the comments posted to my article “Embarrassment”.) The writing at Cyn City — I just love to say that — is quite good and the Cyn City author appears to share my interest in things political as well as photographic, so I’ll probably start reading it regularly.

But I’m not even going to mention the photo albums.

    Come on!!!!

The “writing” in Cyn City is abominable. Appalling. What a pathetically self-absorbed, self-obsessed, Oedipally-centric piece of boring, uninteresting trash! How could you direct your readers to that mawkish drivel and still claim to have any respect for them?

And then, you cite the unctuous Maureen Dowd’s latest hate-laced scribbling as “great”?

Great? Yet another of her banal tirades against the President and you laud her for it? Stop abusing the word “great”.

Man, you are a suitable case for treatment.

But I’m not the one losing it in an online discussion just because someone holds a point of view with which I disagree.

    Funny, NOT!

You’re not losing it now because it’s manifestly clear that you “lost it” way back at the beginning of this blog.

    Have a nice day.

P.S. Have you ever had one good word to say about President Bush? It’s hard for me to find anything of that kind in this thicket of Liberal sneering and jeering.

Well, I guess I could say he made the trains run on time.

Did you ever say a good word about Bill Clinton?

I’m puzzled. Why does Matt er, Nat visit here if he understands that he won’t find any Bushies?

And darling Nat, rest assured that I will not click over to your website as you’ve given a good sample of what to expect right here.

You have a nice day, “sir.”
