Two (Countries) Can Play At That Game

Baghdad Burning, which I found through Martin Sutherland’s SunPig.com — and, by the way, let’s boost his complaint about CarpetRight a little higher on the Google list — reminds me of something I read elsewhere and forgot to comment on.

The United States is deeply frustrated with its hand-picked council members because they have spent more time on their own political or economic interests than in planning for Iraq’s political future, especially selecting a committee to write a new constitution, the officials added. The Washington Post, quoted at Baghdad Burning

River (the author) says this comes as no surprise.

What surprises me is that anyone could/would/should ever think otherwise. Isn’t this how the war started in the first place?

Did the Bush-Cheney-Halliburton-Bechtel group really think they were the only self-interested evil oil-mongering cartel in the world?
