Bob Marcotte sends a link to a CBS News opinion column and says in the Subject line, “This sums it up completely.”
And he’s right. So is the columnist.
George W. Bush has a record the Democrats should have made mincemeat of. Right about now, the media should be writing, and American voters should be thinking: Golly, a million jobs lost, millions more in poverty, manufacturing down; no WMD’s, 1,000-plus dead, Iraq on the brink of civil war, al Qaeda larger than ever and still recruiting, acts of worldwide terrorism on the rise, North Korea and Iran responding to the cowboy routine by going nuclear. This should have been easy. Michael Tomasky, The Pathetic Truth, CBSNews.com, September 14, 2004 (last visited September 14, 2004), emphasis added.
There’s no denying that Democratic “strategists,” on average, are much (much) stupider than Republicans. Dumber than all of them are the millions of Americans, voting Republican without even understanding why.

I have always said the forces of darkness are better at marketing than we are.
Someone recently wrote (and I can’t remember where I read it) that, “Bush may go down as the P.T. Barnum of politics.”
Most, if not all, who read this will remember Barnum’s famous quote, “There’s a sucker born every minute.”
