My New Toy

Well, in about another twelve hours, I’ll be lying on an operating table. Hopefully, the surgeons will be removing any remnants of melanoma remaining in me.

So today, my beautiful wife, Denise Chaffee (a.k.a. “Bunny Chafowitz”), as well as some good friends, Mark & Tracy, and me all played 27 holes of golf. My last hurrah, since I won’t be able to play for some time again.

At the golf course, I carried with me a new toy that just arrived in the mail the other day: my new Olympus E-20N.

All the pictures in this blog entry were made with the new camera.

This camera can do way more than I’ve been able to figure out yet. But that’s one of the many things I plan to do while recovering from the surgery this coming week. I’ll be lying in bed, reading the manual, and taking photographs of the ceiling fan!

Well, there’s not much else to say.

I’m a little nervous. But I’ll be thinking of all my friends; please keep good thoughts for me, too.

Meanwhile, here is one more picture, taken at about our 25th hole, just about the time it was starting to get pretty dark. The course is lit. I didn’t want to use a flash and ruin Mark’s shot, so I just clicked and hoped for the best. This interesting ghost shot was the result of using the camera in Program mode.
