In Other Words…

Posted by Rick · August 31st, 2005 · No Comments

I decided to add another category of blog articles. Hopefully, I’ll be spending more time on this category, since straightforward constitutional writing is now a moot exercise.

We start off with this:

Judge Gross, whose cellular telephone was later monitored by a court-ordered wiretap, and Mr. Gruttadauria had known each other for several years, and their wives are close friends, according to two law enforcement officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because federal authorities do not permit them to discuss matters that are not included in court papers. — William K. Rashbaum, “Judge Is Charged in Money-Laundering Case” (August 31, 2005) The New York Times (emphasis added).

In other words, it’s okay to break the law, as long as you’re a law enforcement official.
