The news this week of the impending extinction of the Chaffee Zoological Gardens in Fresno, California, has me paying more attention to stories like this one.

I guess all that really matters in life is that there are freeways to get us from our beds to our desks and (although less so as more of them move offshore) our factories.

Increasingly, business leaders are realizing the the Matrix isn’t such a bad idea after all. All that’s left is to figure out how to tie workers into it permanently. Never fear, though, they’re working on it.
