I don’t want to be posting something every five minutes today. Unfortunately, there’s so much happening right now that I’m glued to my monitor, reading and writing.
I found a new blog today that I’ll definitely make part of my daily read: The Gadflyer. (And thank you, Chepooka, for pointing me there.)
You might enjoy reading The Gadflyer. It’s does what I wish we could do with Unspun™, but I guess that ain’t gonna happen, as I seem unable to find like-minded quality writers who can pump out articles with any regularity. (No slam intended on current co-writers. People are busy — or, in Bob’s case, wounded. I’m just pointing out that there aren’t any Unspun™ writer’s other than me who can write regularly.)
At any rate, there are several very interesting articles at the Gadflyer discussing the same things we’ve talked about on Unspun™ many times.
Of particular interest is “Code Red,” which discusses the fact that Democrats are taking a drumming from the Republicans because unlike Democrats, the Republicans aren’t code-word-impaired.
Another article there, “Bring on the Brimstone,” talks about Nicholas Kristof’s conversations with Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins, who wrote the Left Behind series of books. In an email exchange, Jenkins took issue with Kristof’s characterization of the books. Jenkins replied that he and LaHaye weren’t “celebrating” the slaughter of non-Christians. They were simply stating “the painful reality of Scripture”: you’re all gunna be slaughtered.
Oh, me, too, because although historically-challenged Scalia considers me a member of just another “denomination” that government should support as against non-believers, Jenkins and LaHaye are quite clear that they represent the One True Religion.
The rest of us can — and will — go to Hell . . . which apparently is not a soon-to-be-overcrowded garbage pit outside Jerusalem.

Thanks for all the great links.
These people just make me tired. What’s wrong with everyone? I don’t understand how people can be so close-minded.
…and Happy Thanksgiving!
