The “News” & Our “Brave” President

Posted by Rick · May 1st, 2003 · 2 Comments

What a brave President we have! And not an ounce of propaganda in his recent activities! Isn’t it terrific, too, that he can cut up and enjoy the company of the good ol’ boys out there on the ocean? And what a dangerous trip it was, too! You know, those jets, well, sometimes they don’t really always make it! Sometimes they crash! That’s a very dangerous thing for our Brave Peace-Loving President to do!

Do I sound to you like a CNN news writer? 😉

I was going to be a CNN writer, but they’re still mad at me. I was only trying to help. I told them they should consider advertising themselves as “the network without commercials.” I mean, let’s face it. Most of us hate commercials. It’s a great selling point to be the only network around that doesn’t air commercials.

CNN didn’t get it. “We have commercials,” they said.

“Well, okay…,” I asked, “uh, could you do something to let us know when the news ends, and the commercials start?”

Hired where? CNN? The White House? Or just anywhere in general?

As to the last choice, that seems to be the way things are going. It’s the whole policy of the “free exchange of ideas”. I’ve actually noticed some people who have decided they don’t want me around because I don’t think the same way they do. That’s fine by me, I guess, although I suspect in that scenario we both lose something.

Anyway, I’m assuming your comment was tongue-in-cheek and aimed at telling me I’ll never replace Paula Zahn or any of those other CNN cuties.
