			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Well, yesterday <a title="Guido Cagnacci, or, How I Became Intergalactic Minister of Arts &#038; Culture" href="http://www.unspun.us/writings/guido.html" target="_blank">I posted a fictional story</a> (or was it?) about how I became the Intergalactic Minister of Arts &#038; Culture after being abducted by space aliens with very, very strange names.</p>
<p>Today, I&#8217;ve re-worked &#8220;<a title="Language Contact &#038; Historical Linguistics" href="http://www.unspun.us/writings/langcon.html" target="_blank">Language Contact &#038; Historical Linguistics</a>,&#8221; a paper I originally wrote in 1998.  As I noted yesterday, I&#8217;ve seen these two articles referenced numerous times on the Internet, including by professors putting together course materials.  So we must keep them up, mustn&#8217;t we, my precious? <img src='http://unspun.us/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
